Obituary for Charles Basil Cox Charles Basil Cox, 64, of Jackson, Missouri died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the home of his mother-in-law in Cape Girardeau. He was born September 11, 1954 in Cape Girardeau to Charles Bernard and Wanda Gross Cox. He and Gina Seabaugh were married May 28, 2004 at Cape Girardeau Missouri.

He was a graduate of Cape Central High School in 1972. He served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea from 1976-1980. He was working at Chartwells Foodservice until the time of his illness.

He loved hunting, fishing, and playing baseball with his son and grandsons. He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. He fought a courageous battle of 16 months with lymphoma cancer.

He was a member of Arbor Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Gina Cox of Jackson, Missouri; mother, Wanda Cox of Jackson, Missouri; one daughter, Torie (Robert Jr.) Eskew of Jackson, Missouri; one son, Brennen Cox of Jackson, Missouri; two sisters, Vickie (Terry) Burke of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Bobbi Barber of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Grant Eskew and Grady Eskew. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Bernard Cox; one sister, Brenda Myers.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Ford and Sons Jackson Funeral Home in Jackson, Missouri. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Sunday September 16, 2018 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.

Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.
