Charles Bernice Burrow June 01, 1919 – May 20, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Charles Bernice Burrow, Elizabethton, born May 31, 1919 – died May 20, 2019 Charles was born in Benthans, VA on May 31, 1919. She was the daughter of Charles and Maxi Leonard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Burrow in 2001 and a Granddaughter Tammy Johnson of Johnson City, TN and half-brothers: George Lyons, Jr, Sam Lyons, Eugene Lyons, Allen Lyons, Albert Lyons and half-sisters: Ethel Bare, Elizabeth Blair and Betty Humphreys.

She is survived by daughters, Shirley Johnson, Johnson City, TN and Patsy Gibson and husband, Danny of Piney Flats, TN. Three sons: Kenneth Burrow and wife Sue, Elizabethton, TN Dean Burrow and wife Linda, Elizabethton, Eddie Burrow and wife, Wanda, Elizabethton. Two half-sisters: Marie Miller, Elizabethton and Geraldine Richie, Elizabethton; three half-brothers: Ralph Lyons, Jerry Lyons and Anthony Lyons all of Elizabethton.

Grandchildren: Danny Johnson, Johnson City, TN, Cindy Case and husband Ricky, Johnson City, TN, Cena Howerton and husband Brady, Rutledge, TN, Denna Wages and husband Ross, South Carolina. Also Mrs. Burrow had five Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grandchildren. Mom was a wonderful mother, she loved all of her children and was a “Mom” to almost everyone who knew her.

She was compassionate and always tending to the needs of others “First”. She was of the Baptist Faith. She had many friends, among those were Edith Campbell, Elizabethton, Addie Blevins, Elizabethton, Andrew Gunn, Elizabethton, Bill Meritt, Elizabethton, Ken & Carol Start, Piney Flats, TN, Tony Miller, Elizabethton, Paul Bishop, Knoxville, TN, Teresa Arnold, Elizabethton, Phil & Dorothy Hardin, Erwin, TN, Martha Epperson, Elizabethton and Minister Ken Oberdorf of Gap Creek Christian Church in Elizabethton.

Mother and her family would like to “THANK” the staff of Signature Health Care of Elizabethton and Ballad Hospital of Elizabethton for all the loving care she received from them. Also, the wonderful cards and visits she received from the Elizabethton Church of Christ. As requested by her and her families there will be a Family Private Celebration of Life held at a later date.
