Obituary for Charles “Carl” Langenfeld Charles “Carl” Langenfeld Age 75, of Burdett, NY passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2018. Carl was born in Somerville, Mass. , the oldest of 9 children of Charles and Anna Langenfeld.

In his earlier years, he worked in the Boston Naval Ship Yard as a welder and later for Polaroid. He also served in the US Air Force Reserves. He built homes and was a skilled carpenter and plumber.

He was a retired Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of Hector. Carl was a lifelong car enthusiast. He especially loved his rebuilt 1968 V-8 Datsun Roadster.

Carl and his wife Kathy loved taking road trips in their Datsun and he especially enjoyed taking laps around Watkins Glen International Racetrack. Carl is survived by his loving wife Kathy; two children, Gail Langenfeld Trudel (Eddie) of Mass. , and Scott (Soli) Langenfeld of Sweden; three step-children, Stephanie Thibodeau (Freddy) of Florida, Michael LaMoreaux (Michelle) of Burdett, and Nathan LaMoreaux of Burdett; eight brothers and sisters and their children, Stephen (Joanne) Langenfeld (Jamie and Kris), Karen (Ted) Stevenson (Alisa and Teddy), Eric (Anna) Langenfeld (Sarah and Nick), Nancy (John) Babson (Jenna and Tori), Thomas (Charlene) Langenfeld (Bethany, Michael, Adam and Margaret), Sue (Denis) Lynch (Kim, Cory and Kaley), Joseph (Ann) Langenfeld (Lizzie and Hannah), and Paul (Barbara) Langenfeld, all of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Cody, Max, Sam, Savanna, Emiley, Ryanna, and Ali; many wonderful cousins and best friends Carl and Marge Stenquist.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Saturday (Nov. 10th) from 1pm-5pm at the Valois-Logan-Hector Fire Department, SR 414, Hector. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the V-L-H Fire Dept.
