Obituary for Charles (Chuck) Clifford Patton Charles “Chuck” “Sonny” Clifford Patton (August 18, 1944-January 2, 2019) Charles passed away in South Salt Lake, Utah at the age of 74. He was born in Long Beach, California to Jeane Eoff Patton and Lewis Verle Patton. He was divorced from Marian Phelps Patton.

Charles enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967 and served in the Vietnam War on destroyers. After leaving the Navy he continued his work in the shipping industry which led him to New Orleans, Louisiana where he resided for 35 years. After the birth of his granddaughter Alyssa he moved to Salt Lake to be near her and his daughter Angel with whom he resided until his death.

Charles worked in maintenance for Market Street Grill until his retirement. He dedicated the rest of his life to his family. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Lewis Patton and Jeane Patton, his son Troy, his brother Patrick and his sister Sharon.

He is survived by his daughter Darlene “Angel” Patton Buhler (Chris), his stepson David Harris (Amanda) his granddaughter Alyssa Buhler, his grandson Nicholas Harris (Rashell) and sister Elaine Bebout and numerous nieces and nephews. There is a private viewing followed by cremation. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Salt Lake VFW Hall at 2920 Highland Dr. on Friday January 11, 2019 from 6:30-10:30.
