Charles D. “Chuck” Miller, age 78, passed away surrounded by his loving family Friday, November 23, 2018. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Tuesday, November 27th at 1 p.m. with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the time of service.

Charles was born on March 24th, 1940 in Binghamton, the son of the late Cecil and Olive Miller. In 1957 Charles enlisted in the U.S Army and was stationed overseas in Germany where he met his loving wife of 60 years, Rosemarie. He proudly served his country for 23 and a half years in which his specialties included both railroad and courier service.

During his military career, Charles earned the rank of Master Sergeant, completed one tour in Vietnam and two in Germany prior to retiring in 1980. He then returned to Binghamton where he pursued a career in management with Ogden Allied and Ryder System, Inc. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Karl Miller; sisters Shirley Forse, Delores Cummiskey, and Ellen Sweet. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemarie, three children, Holger (Marilyn) Miller, Charles (Tammy) Miller, and Linda Caricchio; six grandchildren, Melinda (Damien) Barrett, Tyler, Angelina, Nicole, Catherine, and Victoria; three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Logan, and Richard; brother Tommy (Irene) Miller, sister-in-law, Marilyn Miller of Nebraska, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
