Charles “Charlie” Edward Francis, Sr., 82 of Chillicothe went to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, July 5, 2018 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. He was born July 26, 1935 in Chillicothe, the son of George Dewey and Grace Modell (Holland) Francis. Surviving are daughters, Laura Elaine (Ron) Kennedy and Denise Francis; son, Charles “Chuck” Eugene (Jaimie) Francis, Jr., all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tara A. (Wade) Kennedy, Aaron J. (Tricia) Kennedy, Emily Young, Dustin (Jessica) Spires and Scott (Taylor) Spires; a special step-grandson, Jeff (Rhonda) Ours; step-great-grandchildren, Jeffrey (Katlyn) Ours and Eric Ours; brothers-in-law, Roger Rittinger and Franklin Sickles and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Buddy Holland Francis and Gywn Francis, sisters, Mary Martha Schiff and Mamie Rittinger, his former wife and mother of his children, Helen Marcella “Sis” Francis Carroll and his second wife, Marilyn Francis, a niece and 2 nephews. Mr. Francis was a retired employee of Mead Paper with 41 years of service. He was an avid golfer and loved OSU football.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 9, 2018 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday.

The family wishes to thank Adena Regional Medical Center ICU and 2A staff for their care and Westmoreland Place nurses, especially Pam, Ginger, Brenda and the aides. He loved you all dearly. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home are honored to serve the family.
