July 21, 1937 – February 18, 2019 Charles Hammond, 81, of Huntsville, passed away February 18, 2019 in Fayetteville, Tennessee. In 1955, he was ordained as a Baptist minister. He dedicated his life to preaching God’s word; serving as pastor of several churches in Alabama and Texas.

He will truly be missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Avery Hammond, mother, Lela Mae Hammond; brothers: Harace Hammond and Raymond Hammond; and son, Carl Hammond (Anita). He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Hammond; brother, Don Hammond; daughters, Melissa Elliott (Steve) and Myra Blankenship (Mike); sons: Eric Hammond (Kay), Chris Hammond (Kathy) and Cory Hammond; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 5:00 to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home, Thursday at 3:00 PM with Bro. Winfred Stayton , Bro.

. Jimmy Henderson, and Bro. Wade Martin officiating.

Interment will be at Moon Cemetery. www.
