Charles Fred Cunningham June 21, 1934 – February 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card CUNNINGHAM, Charles Fred, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, died February 2, 2019, at his Covenant Woods residence. He was born on June 21, 1934, to the late Elisha Vernon Cunningham and Bernice McKinney Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybilla Johanna Cunningham; brothers, Edward Cunningham, J.W. Cunningham; sisters, Louise Knoerr and Mabel Banks.

Surviving are sisters, Susie Barton and Ona Franklin of Tullahoma, Tennessee; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Fred graduated from Franklin County High School, the University of the South in Sewanee, and completed a master’s degree at the University of Tennessee. He began his career at Reynolds Metals Company in Virginia, where he worked as a controller.

Visitation will be held at Bennett Funeral Home in Mechanicsville on Friday, February 8, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, February 9, at 11 a.m. Interment to be conducted by Chaplain Steve Scott.
