Charles Gerald “Jerry” McDonald, 81, of Houston, Texas, passed from this life into his heavenly home on September 17, 2018. Known to family and friends as Jerry, he was born July 20, 1937 in Ripley, Tennessee to parents Vance McDonald and Mary Francis McDonald. He was married to the love of his life Ellie McDonald for 55 years and retired after 35 years as a longshoreman with the ILA Local 24.

He is preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Sonny McDonald. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ellie McDonald; sons, Gerald McDonald & wife, Charman and Kenny McDonald & wife, Rachel; by grandchildren, Landon McDonald & wife, Taylor; Blayne McDonald, Autumn McDonald, Brennen McDonald, Camryn McDonald, Kendall McDonald, Charlie McDonald; and by one great-grandchild, Maci McDonald; and by sister, Carol White & husband Melton; and brother Jimmy McDonald & wife Jeanette.

The family invites you to join them for a time of remembrance on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Carter Conley Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. and a celebration of life in the Carter Conley Chapel Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Cemetery following the services.
