Obituary for Charles Gilbert Roberts, Jr Mr. Charles Gilbert Roberts Jr., 85, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, at Russell County Hospital. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on April 8, 1933 to the late Charles and Gertrude (Hahn) Roberts Sr. A Celebration of Life will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 10 at 11 am with Aubrey Bessenger officiating.

Burial will follow at Hayden Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday from 4-7 pm and on Wednesday from 10 am until time of service. He had a wonderful work ethic, holding a job until he was 83 years old.

He worked 35 years at Cummins as an engine tester. He also worked at Lake Cumberland in Kentucky on the state dock performing maintenance on houseboats; he then drove a bus for Kentucky Caring. He loved being outside and mowing grass.

He is survived by his daughter, Marcie (Frank) Kapfhammer; grandchildren, Creyton Thomas, Victoria Wheeler, Conner Wheeler, Noah Wheeler, Trey Kapfhammer, Chaz Kapfhammer and Isabella Kapfhammer; sisters, Barbara Morey, Joyce (Aubrey) Bessenger, Marilyn Wente and Kathy (Phil) Lockridge; brother, Mike (Phyllis) Roberts; special friend, Shirley Popplewell; and sister-in-law, Kathy Roberts. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vickie Roberts Wheeler; brother, Jerry Roberts; and mother of his daughters, Naomi Sullivan Roberts. .
