Obituary for Charles K. Fontaine Raleigh, NC Charles K. Fontaine (Chuck) formerly of Clifton Park, died Monday, Sept 10 after a brief illness. Born 2/2/1937 in Cohoes and educated in Cohoes and Troy, he was the only child of the late Charles F. and Catherine V. (Godfrey). He will be devotedly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Marlene (Shakow) and his four loving children, son, Charles F. (Gina Gendron), daughters, Danielle, Noelle and Michelle and grandchildren, Dominique, Marcel and Julien Legros and Samantha and Jakob Fontaine, in addition to his stepchildren, Tracey Margosian (Gregg) and Gregory Julian (Carmela Michael) and stepgrandchildren, Joel, Ryan, Kyle and Sean Margosian and Justin, Lukas, Whitney and Jacob Julian.

Chuck proudly served in the NYS National Guard for 33 years and retired in 1986 as Command Sgt. Major of the 108 Inf NYARNG, in addition to serving in the HHC 42nd Inf Div in Troy for many years. He also worked at Matthew Bender and Co., Albany for more than 27 years, making and remembering many close friends.

The funeral will be Friday at 1pm, from the Marra Funeral Home, 246 Remsen Street, Cohoes. Internment will be in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday From 4 to 7 PM.
