Charles “Marvin” Gegenheimer went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Mary Frances Powers Gegenheimer for 50 years. Father of Elizabeth Gegenheimer LaMartina (Sal), Thomas John Gegenheimer (Joan), Christopher Gegenheimer, Daniel Gegenheimer (Tina), Mary “Susie” Major (Jay), Cindy Johnson (Roger), Victoria Bush (David) and the late Charles Marvin Gegenheimer, Jr. Son of late Philip and Margret Gegenheimer.

Brother of Donald Gegenheimer and the late Barney, Persian, Thomas, and John Gegenheimer, Theresa Jordan, Doris Parker, Rita Faye Garner and Phyllis Hubert. Grandfather of Rachael, Salvador Jr., Antonio, Andrea, Brenna, Sara, Reid, Ryan, Mary Jean, Matthew, Shayne, Shannon, Storm, Susan, Mary Frances, Sara, Caroline, and Kyle. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren with 2 on the way.

He was a loving husband and father. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and was a volunteer at JoEllen Smith Convalescent Center. He was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Algiers for over 50 years.

Relatives and friends of the family, also residents and staff of JoEllen Smith Convalescent Center and The Landing are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy. , Harvey, LA on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1pm. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday morning from 10am until 1pm. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www. mothefunerals.com.
