Obituary for Charles “Charlie” DeLong Jr. Charles O. DeLong, Jr., age 68, of Little Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2018, at the Grand at Mohawk Valley, surrounded by his family, after a long courageous battle with lung cancer. Charlie was born in Herkimer on August 24, 1950 to the late Charles Sr. and Beverly Murphy DeLong. He was educated in the Ilion schools.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Charlie is survived by his children, grandchildren; five siblings; many nieces, nephews, and friends, especially the crew at Ruggerio’s Restaurant. He was predeceased by a son, Christopher; a sister, Mary Anne Barnum; a brother, James DeLong; and a brother in law, Terry Wiggins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Razia, Minela Andelija, PA, the staff at the Slocum Dickson Oncology office, the staff at Faxton Infusion Unit, as well as the staff at The Grand Mohawk Valley for all their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome.
