Obituary for Charles “Pat” Herring Print Charles “Pat” Herring, 77, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019. Cremation is planned with a private inurnment at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery. Pat was born January 31, 1941 in St. Joseph, MO and was the only child of Charles and Helen (McDermott) Herring.

Pat graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1958. A few years later, in 1962, he met and married Clarann Capps and the pair had three children. Professionally, Pat worked as an insurance agent; first for Prudential, then becoming his own boss as a private insurance agent.

Pat enjoyed life. He was a sports fan and spent time coaching baseball and football teams for his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, bowling and volunteering at Our Lady Presentation Church, were he was a member for over 25 years.

Pat was very personable and didn’t know a stranger. Pat is survived by his wife, Clarann; three children, Kevin Herring; Lori (Jim) Green; and Brian (Angela) Herring; grandchildren, Kaylee Larson, Kelsey Herring, Brandon, Brooke and Brody Green, and Katricia, Lilly and Ty Herring. He is preceded in death by both parents.
