Reed was born October 14, 1955 in Beaumont, Texas to Herb and Lawanda (Barnett) Ellis. He grew up in Saudi Arabia, then graduated for Allen Military High School in Bryan, Texas. Reed received… Read More » his Bachelors degree from University of North Texas and University of Texas-Dallas.

He was a geophysicist and was the D.I.S.D. Physics Department Chair at North Dallas High School. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Lucy Clark Ellis of Dallas; daughter, Lara Ellis Olson and husband Seth of Dallas; son, Robert Reed Ellis and Joy of Addison.

He is also survivedby a brother, James Russell Ellis and wife Dixie of Rusk.
