Obituary Charles Schmitz, Sr., age 55, of Wallkill died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at home. Charlie was born March 1,1963 in Portsmouth, Va. He was the beloved son of Matthew and Jo Ann (Gauquie) Schmitz.

He married Kathryn (McCue) Schmitz on June 29, 1985. He worked at Nelco in Walden N.Y. for 20 years. After receiving his G.E.D. he worked as a plumber for several years before starting his own woodworking business.
