Charles W. (Wayne) Ward, 90, passed away on September 8, 2018. He was born in Neola, Iowa on December 5, 1927 and was the youngest of the five children of Charles M. and Augusta B. Ward. Wayne served his country in the United States Air Force.

He married Alice Pauline McGee of Henderson, Iowa, in Colorado Springs, Colorado and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage until her passing on September 3, 2005. Wayne was an “Omar Man” for several years before working for Metz Baking Company.

After retirement he called bingo at several Omaha/Council Bluffs locations and had fun traveling to Las Vegas with his wife and friends. He was a competitive card player and enjoyed spending time with his family. We will all miss him dearly.

Wayne is survived by his daughters, Karen Jasper (Charlie) of Columbus, Nebraska; Nancy Elton of Council Bluffs, Donna Ward, Linda Cozad (Travis), and his son Steve (Deb) all of Council Bluffs. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer Andrew, Jimmy Elton (Holly), Tammy Roberts (Howard), Rebecca Fipps (Chris), Kyle (Krystyna) Ward, Derek (Jie Eun) Ward, Alana Olson (Kirk) and Brent (Brittney) Cozad, 9. 5 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Funeral Service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home, Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Midlands Humane Society.
