Charles “Wayne” Yelverton, 71 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 beginning at 2:00 PM ET at Parkhill Cemetery, Chapel of Pines. Wayne was born September 14, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia to Sebert Alexander Yelverton and Lillian Gaynell Yelverton.

He served in Vietnam as a member of the United States Air Force, then retired as a machinist. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling in casinos, woodworking and metal detecting. Surviving are his loving wife, Connie Yelverton; daughter, Kelli Sanders (Mitchell); son, Cory Lee Yelverton; sister, Pat Rager (Bob); 4 grandchildren, Danielle, Brandon, Justin and Ryan; great-granddaughter, Addison, nieces and nephews.
