Charles Wesley Bodimer III, 65, of Gallipolis passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, October 1, 2018. Born April 5, 1953 on Easter Sunday in Gallipolis, Ohio, Charley was the son of the late Charles W. and Ruth (Steele) Bodimer II. On July 20, 1974, Charley married Patricia Ann Gingrich, who survives him.

Charley was a… Read More » graduate of Ohio University, earning a B.A. in business with an emphasis in accounting. After graduating from college, Charley and Patti moved to Denver, Colorado where all three of their children were born.

While in Colorado, Charley was employed as an accountant for various businesses and was a member and president of the Jaycees. Charley grew up on the family farm in Eureka, Ohio; and upon his returning from Denver, Charley farmed with his family, raising beans, corn, tobacco, peppers, and soy beans. He was the owner and operator of Bodimer’s Grocery and County Line Carryout for over 25 years.

After selling his business, Charley was the senior staff accountant and payroll/HR manager for Red’s Truck Center. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #107 and Grace United Methodist Church. Charley loved spending time at the Gallia County Junior Fair; and in 2001, he was instrumental in helping to start Bodimer Brothers Show Pigs.

Charley was a loving husband, wonderful father, and a good brother. He will be remembered as a thoughtful and genuine man who loved to cook and had a contagious sense of humor. Charley is survived by his wife, Patti Bodimer of Gallipolis; children, Joshua Wesley (Kendra) Bodimer of Gallipolis, Jessica Anne Bodimer of Columbus, Ohio, and Jacob Benjamin Bodimer of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Wesley Clyde and Ethan Thomas Bodimer; sisters, Anna Marie Bodimer (Larry) Harrison of Bidwell and Charla Bodimer MacKenzie of Granville, Ohio; and brother, Lewis (Robecca) Bodimer of Gallipolis.

There will be a Memorial Service for Charley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church, Gallipolis, Ohio, under the direction of Pastor Ray Cain. Following at 7:00 p.m., the family will be socializing and reminiscing with friends during a Celebration of Life in Grace United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Charley requests that you wear your favorite pair of jeans or Charley shorts.
