Obituary of Charles Meehan CHARLES J. MEEHAN Latham-Charles J. Meehan, 88 of Latham, beloved husband of B. Jane Sheehy, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany with his loving family at his side. Born in Troy, on December 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Frances V. (Geiger) Meehan. He was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany class of 1947.

He married his beloved B. Jane Sheehy on April 24, 1954 and the two have shared a beautiful marriage of 64 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and his Master’s degree from Siena College graduating in 1961.

He was a teacher at Heatly High School in Green Island for several years and a Professor at Hudson Valley Community College for over 30 years until retiring in 1991. Charles was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. He was a volunteer for many years at Albany Memorial Hospital and a member of the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus.

One of his greatest joy’s was watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Marsha M. (Michael) Tierney, Patrick C. (Patricia) Meehan, Michael J. (Loren) Meehan, Charles J. (Christine) Meehan and Jane P. Meehan, his daughter in law Jamie Meehan, his sisters Marilyn (the late Arne) Heggen and Betty (the late James) Murphy, his brother in law James Casserly and sisters-in-law Joan Sheehy and Ann Marie Sheehy. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Christopher Joseph Meehan, and his sister Frances Casserly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 12;00 noon Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham with Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating.

Calling hours are private for family. Interment will be on Monday November 5 at 12:00 noon at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers donations to the Regional Food Bank 965 Albany-Shaker Rd.
