Obituary of Charles Savoid Charles R. Savoid, age 71, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Cynthia Holmes Savoid, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Durham, NC on January 20, 1947, he is a son of Carrie Savoid Harris of Bridgeport and the late Cheesebrough Williams Jr. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired civil engineer for the Town of Fairfield with over 35 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church since 1989, where he along with his wife, were members of the Gospel Choir.

Mr. Savoid was an active member of the Parkinson’s Disease support group in Milford. Charles’ passion was the Dallas Cowboys, traveling (Las Vegas) listening to music, fishing, playing the keyboard, guitar and his favorite was spending time with family and friends. Charles was a man of many talents from brick mason, renovations and carpentry.

He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 45 years, Cynthia, and his mother, survivors include his four loving children, Lisa Savoid of Ansonia, Tamara Savoid-Bell and her husband Antonio of Matthews, NC, Charles Keith Savoid of Ansonia and Justin Holmes Savoid of Bridgeport, two cherished grandchildren, Jevonne Lashley and Ayanna Savoid, sister siblings: Martha (Sophie) Williams, Joyce Ann Williams, Ruby Williams, Shantel Williams, Malinda Terrell. Brothers siblings: Sherwood Stephens, Jerome Williams, Harris Williams, Cheesebrough Williams III and predeceased by Joseph Williams and Ralph Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 12:00 p.m. in The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 275 Union Ave. , Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, P.O. Box 718, Old Mystic, CT 06372.
