Obituary for Charlotte Moore Charlotte Moore, 82, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, October 14, 2018, at White Oak Estates Assisted Living in Oskaloosa. She was born May 7, 1936 in Mahaska County the daughter of Leonard and Nancy Padgett Brown. She was united in marriage to Cecil Miller in 1952, the two of them later divorced.

Early on Charlotte worked at a Bakery in Oskaloosa. She later worked at Tower Park Care Center and last for Pierson Seed west of Oskaloosa sorting seed corn. On April 4, 1971, she was united in marriage to Edward Moore at Kirksville, Missouri.

Following their marriage Charlotte worked on the farm alongside Ed. Ed died November 28, 2013. Following Ed’s death Charlotte moved into Oskaloosa.

She enjoyed collecting dolls and antique dishes. She also had a love of animals especially horses. Her family includes her children, Ron (Silvanna) Miller of Fairfield, Mary Robins of Ottumwa, and Shawn Moore of Albia; two grandchildren, Eric Miller and Matt Miller; eight grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Rodger (Kathy) Brown of Oskaloosa, Jean Workman of Des Moines, Shirley Carlson of Oskaloosa, and Ann Giesel of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Brown and Larry Brown; and a sister, June Steele. As was Charlotte’s wish her body has been cremated and no services are planned. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
