Charmes’ Obituary Charmes Lynn Weaver, 85 years young, a resident of Woodlawn, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Visitation will be held January 19, 2019 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home 1035 N Main St, Hillsville, VA 24343 at 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm and Celebration of Life Service from 2:30 to 3:30 pm with Pastor Mike Oxentenko and Pastor Darry Campbell officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.

Charmes was born in Craigsville, Virginia, to Homer Theodore Weaver and Clara Laura (Robertson) Weaver on November 18, 1933. He first went to Madison College in Tennessee. He then attended Columbia Union College and graduated with a major in Theology and a minor in History.

He started his career working at the Library of Congress. He also was an elementary education teacher at Allentown, PA, Big Stone Gap, Virginia and Galax Virginia. He worked as the custodian at Hillsville Intermediate School for 20 years.

He was also a book binder and used this skill to bind books and Bibles as well a way to witness for Christ. He married Bonnie Josephine Goff on June 4, 1961. They were married for 53 years.

He is survived by the following relatives and family members: His children: His son Joseph Lynn Weaver and his wife Laura of Cleveland, TN; His daughters Denise Marie Eden of Hendersonville, NC; Juanita Louise Weaver-Reiss of Dayton, OH; and Clara Anne Weaver of Woodlawn, VA. His grandchildren are Pamela (Weaver) Evans, Angela Weaver, Joella Weaver, Daniel West, Sylvia Wolfe-Chhorn and her husband Ty Chhorn, Jason Reiss and his wife Heather (Morgan) Reiss. Great grandchildren are Colby Evans, Tyler Evans, Evan Reiss, Caden Reiss, Sydney Reiss, and Braeden Reiss.

His brother Dean Weaver of Lady Lake, Florida, his sister Ruth Thorpe of Emporia, VA, and Mabel Jarrett and her husband John Jarrett of Emporia, Va. He is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and his sisters, Geraldine O’Donnell, Shelva Felton, and Della Weaver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Twin County Humane Society at www.
