Cherlene’s Obituary Cherlene Ann Turner Harrell Head, 72, of 202 Shannonhouse Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019, in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Mrs. Head was born in McDonough County, Illinois, and was the daughter of the late Cecil Edward and Margaret Turner. A missionary in Brazil for 48 years, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Elizabeth City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Harrell. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Richard Lynwood Head; two sons, The Rev. Karl Head and wife, Debbie, of Edenton, and Timothy James Head of Greenville; a sister, Harriet Blanner of Ellisville, MO; and two grandchildren, Jack and Jordan.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Immanuel Baptist Church, 901 West Queen Street, Edenton, and will be conducted by the Revs. John Keeter and Ashby Browder. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
