Chess Anderson Dunlap Chess Anderson Dunlap, 80 years old of Milan, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 5th 2019 at his home. Chess was born October 28, 1938 in Sullivan County near Cora, Mo. To Roy Earl Dunlap and Anna Mary (Pipes) Dunlap of Milan.

Survivors include: his wife of the home, Shirley June Dunlap, two daughters, Brenda Healy and husband Leo of Milan, also, Glenda Lawson and husband Tysen Lawson of Kirksville; five grandchildren, April Long and husband Brad of Milan, Kellie Healy of Madison, Wisconsin, Lora Healy of Milan, Ashley (Conner) McClaskey and husband Riley of Kansas City, Mo. , and Aaron Conner of Milan; one great grandchild, Conner Ryan McClaskey; a step grandchild, Alex Lawson; and two sisters, Ruth Ann (Dunlap) Taylor and husband Farrell of Milan, and Linda (Dunlap) Rogers of Milan. Chess was preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Chid Dunlap, Dale Dunlap, Gale Dunlap, and James (Jim) Dunlap; and a brother-in-law, Carrol Rogers.

Chess married Shirley (Bundridge) Dunlap on December 24, 1959. They worked in Kansas City, Missouri, but moved back two years later and started working at Con Agra Food (Stampers), where he worked and retired after 30 plus years. Chess also raised cattle, horses, and mules.

Chess loved his family and friends, he also loved a good family and friends gathering. He put on a gathering at Reno Hill every year with good food, good ole time music, and a camp fire that would last through the night for the campers and sleeping bags. Funeral services for Chess will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan.

Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 AM.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Zion Cemetery.
