OBITUARY Chris Joseph Balsamo Sr. August 19, 1939 – November 9, 2018 Chris Joseph Balsamo Sr., 79, of Nederland passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. Chris was born August 19, 1939 in Port Arthur, Texas to Stanley and Mary Balsamo. Chris was a life-long resident of Port Arthur and served in the United States Coast Guard.

He was a Master Jeweler and was a painter in the refineries for over 30 years in the Mid-County area. Mr. Balsamo was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Nederland. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and eating.

Mr. Balsamo was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Balsamo and Mary Minnino Balsamo; brother, Phillip Balsamo and a sister, Mary Lou Craven. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Ann Balsamo; children, Clifford Balsamo, Chris Joseph Balsamo Jr., Cammie Kasper and Corey Balsamo and a brother, Russell Balsamo. Mr. Balsamo also leaved behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.
