Christina A. Campbell , age 51, passed away on September 8th 2018 after courageously battling breast cancer for the past 11 years. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her husband Brent, son, CJ, her parents Leonard and Linda McHugh, siblings Len and Candee were with her in her final hours.

She will also be missed by many loving relatives who will mourn her passing while celebrating her life, which was lived with fire, passion honor, dignity and service to others. Christina was born in Traverse City Michigan September 27th 1966, and raised in Gaylord, Michigan. After graduating high school in 1984, she joined the United States Air Force and served her country in duty stations around the world to include wartime service in operation Desert Storm.

During her service she worked in law enforcement as an attack dog and drug dog handler. She provided security at numerous high profile events in support of the department of defense and other governmental agencies. She excelled in her profession and earned numerous awards and decorations.

While serving on active duty she earned her bachelor’s degree and then her Master’s of Science degree in computer science. She finished her career as a computer systems administrator, instructor and First Sergeant. After retiring after 24 years she promptly took her considerable skill set to the Defense Information Systems agency and continued her career working for the government.

She loved her job and loved the people she was felt blessed to work with. Her true love and passion was her family and their happiness, Christina was particularly proud of CJ and his accomplishments academically, in skiing, soccer, lacrosse and how he has developed into a remarkable young man. If you knew her, you knew she loved her pups too.

They’re looking for her and are missing her just like the rest of us. Christina loved to travel and in particular loved to go home to Gaylord and visit with family and friends. The best of times were spent around a bonfire at her parent’s house, playing cards and talking into the night, hanging with Papa’s Texas Longhorns and spending time with Len and Candee, watching the kids try to throw each other off the snow machines.

Oh, and driving red Corvette fast, with the wind in her hair. Our whole family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Huntsman for their dedication, care and compassion. They are the true heroes.

We’d also like to thank all the extraordinary people who helped Christina throughout her fight. You know who you are. Finally, for all our brothers and sisters in arms, Christina assured me that she would ride ahead to Fiddler’s Green and secure us a Stammtisch in that shady meadow green.

We’ll raise a glass with friends and drink and remember the best of times. Memorial gatherings will be announced at a later date. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No.

Fairfield Road.
