Myrtle Victoria Yorgason Turley McPhie May 14, 1922 ~ September 3, 2018 Myrtle Victoria Yorgason Turley McPhie, born at home on Mother’s Day on May 14, 1922 to Charles Edward and Esther Matilda Erickson Yorgason, in Ogden City, Weber County, Utah. She passed away on Monday, September 3, 1918 at 7:11 a.m., at Garden Assisted Living in Ogden. She was 96 years old.

She was married to Gilbert Merrell Turley and later to John Marvin McPhie. She was educated in Ogden City School, graduating from Ogden High School and seminary in 1940. She attended Weber College and Ogden Business College.

She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the Primary, Sunday School, Visiting Teacher, Relief Society and as secretary to Patriarch Charles H. Taylor. She sang in duets, trios, and quartets with the Tri-Valley Singles Choir. She was number six of five brothers and one sister, Kenneth Edward, Robert Milton, Florence Coffman, Charles Elden, and Rulon J. Yorgason all deceased.

She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandson, James Andrew “Andy” Hines. Her children include, Gerry Turley (Gordon) White, Carol Turley (Brad) Hines, Merrell (Marilyn) Turley, and Lynnea Turley (Alan) Stokes; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and stepchildren, Ted (Twyla – deceased), Dean (Dixie), Dick (Ivanie), Terry, Pam (Bruce – deceased), and Candy (Ted). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and has maintained a close relationship with many.

She enjoyed spending the last 10 years at Gardens Assisted Living. She met and enjoyed her many friends; old and new. Thanks to Community Nursing Services Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
