Christine Kalashian, of Genesee passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison at the age of 68. She was born June 22, 1949, in Linz, Austria, the daughter of Frank and Anna (nee Sunerits) Becker. She had an incredibly kind heart and had a special connection with nature, animals and wildlife.
She loved her daughter and her granddaughter immensely. She loved gardening, flowers, drawing, watching the wildlife that came to her bird feeders, taking long drives to look at the beauty this world had to offer and she loved music and poetry. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed going to Holy Hill 1-2 times a week for mass.
Christine noticed all of life’s gifts, all of the little things, from the tiniest bug to the slightest breeze to the way the light filtered through the trees. She noticed and appreciated the all beauty around her…things others would walk past and never notice, she saw them and made sure others did too. She was an incredible Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister and Friend.
She is deeply loved and she will be deeply missed. This is the day which the lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24 Christine is survived by her husband, Richard.
Her daughter Laura (Kevin) Houlihan and her precious granddaughter Stella. Also, survived by a sister Annemarie Kubach and a brother Frank Becker. Two “grand dogs” Summit & Bentley.
Visitation will be held at the Basilica at Holy Hill on Monday, June11, 2018 between 1 and 2 PM with a Memorial Mass of Resurrection for Christine following at 2 PM. Fr. Donald Brick OCD Officiating.
