Obituary for Christine Salerno Piscataway, NJ – Christine (Castano) Salerno, 89, surrounded by her family, passed away at her residence on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, NY to her late parents Dominic and Anna (D’Elia) Castano, she has been a resident of Piscataway since 1963. She enjoyed spending time with her family as a homemaker.

She liked to read, complete crossword puzzels and watch old movies. Predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1978, daughter Carolyn Salerno in 2013 and her sister Natalie Slozzari, Christine leaves behind her loving children; Jane Conner and husband Ralph Bellafonte of Middle and Thomas, Jr. and Paul Salerno both of Piscataway. She will be missed dearly by her two brothers; Vincent of Queens, NY and Bernard of Ringwood, NJ, two grandchildren; Danielle Conner of Green Brook and Marissa Bolewicki of Lancaster, PA and her great-granddaughter Gia Schonleber.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 from 2-6 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, 208 Bound Brook Avenue in Piscataway on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Christine will be buried with her husband at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to the American Heart Association (www. heart.org) would be appreciated.
