Christopher “Chris” Lee Hix, 43, of La Porte, passed away unexpectedly at 3:40 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2018 at La Porte Hospital. He was born January 1, 1975, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Donald E. and Regina M. (Jauga) Hix. Chris enjoyed working on cars, antique cars, fishing and being outdoors.

He was a sports fan and liked watching NASCAR. Chris was a caring person who loved animals. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Hix of La Porte; soul mate and girlfriend of 18 years, Linda Bennett of La Porte; one sister, Kimberly (John) Schmidt of Lawton, Oklahoma; two nephews, Cade and Christian Schmidt of Lawton, Oklahoma; one niece, Tatiana Clark of Houston, TX; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; friend and Regina’s soulmate, Kieran Gilpatrick; and three dogs, Haylee, Diva and Sadie. Preceding him in death were his father; grandparents; four uncles, Richard, Robert and Dan Jauga and Roy Hix; and one aunt, Evita Gordon. Cremation will take place.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd. , La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
