Kenneth Michael Czarnecki, 76, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home. Kenneth was born in Chicago, IL, on July 22, 1941 to John C.and Phyllis A.(Mleczko) Czarnecki. On September 28, 1963 in Kingsford Heights, IN, he married Margaret Harness who preceded him in death.

Also surviving are his beloved children, Laura C. Metzger of York, PA, Kenneth M. Czarnecki II of Walkerton, David W. Czarnecki of Lewisville, TX; brothers, Al Czarnecki of North Judson and John Czarnecki of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Susan Howell of Monticello, IN; 3 grandsons, Nicholas, Anthony and Benjamin Metzger. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret R. Czarnecki. Kenneth was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church in LaCrosse, IN, the American Legion Post 0403 in Wanatah, PNA Lodge 1120, VFW Post 1130, and the Polish Falcons Nest 564.

Kenneth worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Wanatah, Winchester Western in Kingsbury, Joy Manufacturing, Teledyne, and then retired from Steel Warehouse in South Bend. Ken served on the USS Sierra Destroyer Tender while serving honorably in the US Navy. Ken enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, going on cruises, and joking with friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM (CST) on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Larry Owens officiating. A time of gathering will be held from 4-7 PM (CST) on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 AM (CST) until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will take place following the service at St. Martin Cemetery in LaCrosse, IN.
