Christopher W. Kupiec, 66, of Spring Brook Twp, died on September 20, 2018 from complications of pneumonia surrounded, held and prayed over by his family at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Chris was born in Scranton on December 25, 1951 and was welcomed into the Stangline household as a toddler, joining big brother Gus “Doc”. He became the much loved son of Gustav H. and Miriam I. Stangline.

Before retirement Chris worked at many jobs, perhaps the longest was at Lackawanna Junior… Read More » College and just prior to retirement, North Pocono Preschool and Child Care Center. Chris spent his early years in South Scranton before moving to Roaring Brook Township, where he graduated from North Pocono High School and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Elmhurst. He loved to tinker and “fix” things; Bondo and J.B. Weld were his mediums of choice.

Chris was most proud of being a licensed ham radio operator. Most recently he bought himself a guitar and was strumming along to the “Oldies” on his laptop. In the past year Chris was blessed with many caring helpers, Allied Palliative Care and Allied Home Health which enabled him to remain in his home in Spring Brook Township.

He was anticipating getting behind the wheel of his car again but that wasn’t to be. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28 at 11:00 am at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC 3 First Street in Spring Brook Township to be conducted by Norman Carter. Interment will follow in Maple Lake Cemetery in Spring Brook Twp.
