Obituary for Christopher Richard Reiher Print Christopher Richard Reiher, 47, of Carlinville, IL died Thursday, October 18, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Carlinville, IL on September 17, 1971 to Richard and Linda (Boente) Reiher. Cris graduated from Carlinville High School in 1989 and completed coursework at Lewis and Clark Community College.

Cris was a jack of all trades and was employed in many different fields. He loved to cook and was always perusing menus to create his own recipes. Cris loved to spend time with family and friends, and never knew a stranger.

His greatest accomplishment and pride was raising his three amazing daughters. After he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in June, his daughters dropped everything to care for and spend all their time with him. His only request was to be surrounded by family.

Cris was preceded in death by his mom, Linda (2010) and grandparents: Norman Boente, Betty and Wendell Bates, Betty Reiher, Roland “Dude” Reiher; and great-grandma Martha Lewis. Survived by his daughters: Molly (John Winsel), Lexi and Katie, his “pop” Rich (Lisa); brother Dave (Monica); nephews Brandon (Ali) and Matthew “Matty”; nieces Ashley Thompson (Rusty) and Whitney; great-nephews Jack and Bo Thompson, and Finn Reiher; several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family has planned private graveside and memorial services.
