Chrystal B. Malcolm 88, of Vandergrift died Thursday, November 8, 2018 in her residence. Born May 23, 1930 in East Vandergrift she is the daughter of the late Carl and Ann Petrosky Bartoe. Chrystal had been employed by the former National Bank of the Commonwealth in Vandergrift as a teller.

A member of the Vandergrift Presbyterian Church where she was active with the womens club, the church choir and had been a bookkeeper. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping, gardening, reading, cooking and had enjoyed art. Chrystal and Sandy provided over 50 trips to the Jersey Shore taking the entire family.

She was the Beloved wife of her husband of 60 years William “Sandy” Malcolm of Vandergrift. Beloved mother of her daughters Claudia E. Malcolm of Vandergrift. , Jennifer D. Phillips of East Vandergrift and Becky (Jay) Zahumensky of Kepple Hill.

Devoted grandmother of her Five grandchildren Jill (Benjamin) Dickun. , Erin (Padraic) Ferris. , Evan and Daniel Strellec and Jason Zahumensky.

Devoted great grandmother of her Six great grandchildren. A brother Ted (Kate) Bartoe of Kepple Hill along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Glenn Bartoe.

Family and friends will be received Sunday from 12pm till 4 pm in the Dunmire-Kerr & Rowe Funeral Home, Inc. 244 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Vandergrift Cemetery.
