Obituary of Cindy Chapman Cindy Ann Chapman, age 61 of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 9, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Erie on January 24, 1957 a daughter of Donald and Florence Nicol McLaughlin. Cindy was a 1975 graduate of Academy High School and received her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Edinboro University.

Before retiring a couple years ago, she worked for the IU as a speech pathologist, and worked at Bethel Baptist School, The Gertrude Barber Center and the Meadville Mennonite Chapel. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. George’s Catholic Church, where she taught CCD. She enjoyed crafts, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by one sister Christine Walk. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband of 32 years Donald Chapman; their two children, Scott (Denise) Chapman of Houston, TX and Kaity (Josh) Sabo of Erie; one grandchild on the way; four sisters, Lynn (Robert) Mogel, Donna (James) Young, Susan (Carl) McLaughlin and Beth Ann McLaughlin all of Erie and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many dear friends. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd.

on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and are invited to a funeral service there on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army P.O. Box 737 Erie, PA 16512.
