Clara’s Obituary Clara Mae McFadden Cress, 84, of Baxter passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her residence. Born June 27, 1934 in Leslie County, KY; she worked as a mail room Supervisor for over 30 years at the Harlan Daily Enterprise and believed in the Church of God faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton (Bad Eye) Cress, Sr.; her parents, Oakley McFadden and Ollie Sizemore McFadden; two sons, Clinton Cress, Jr., Donnie Cress; one daughter, Mildred Cress; and a great-grandchild, Jayden Smith.

. Clara is survived by two daughters, Opal Warren (Denny); and Marlene King; two sisters, Annette Green and Lena Walker. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Katherine, Khristie Abner and Kayla King; four great-grandchildren, Robbie Neal, Hanna Abner, David Abner, Rachel Abner; and a very special friend who she loved like a daughter, Brenda Hunter Metcalf.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Harlan County Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Donnie Adkisson officiating with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Harlan Funeral Home in charge of her arrangements.
