Claude Bastian Van Vliet of Concord, California passed away peacefully in his home on December 26, 2018. He enjoyed the holidays with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Myrth Ellen Rands Van Vliet, and three of his four children.

His daughter, Karrilee Robison preceded him in death, passing from cancer in 2012. Daughter Kimberlee Staking of Fairfield, California, and sons Jeffrey Claude Van Vliet of Great Falls, Montana and C. Randy Van Vliet of Concord, California together with their spouses join their mother in mourning his passing. He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Claude graduated from Brigham Young University in 1956 and worked in the field of insurance in southern California, where he was raised, and subsequently in the Bay Area. He retired as Regional Vice President of American Insurance Group (AIG). A native of Santa Monica, California, Claude had reached the age of 84 on November 19, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday December 29, 2018 at 1590 Denkinger Rd. in Concord at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette, CA.
