Obituary for Claude Ellwood Glass Rose Hill, VA Claude Ellwood Glass, age 86, passed away on November 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born on November 8, 1931 in Taneytown, MD the son of the late Cecil and Alta Smith Glass, he was raised in the Flatwood Community until leaving to serve in the US Army during the Korean War, upon returning home from the war he met the love of his life in the diner she was working in the day he got home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jewell Campbell Glass.

He was a member of the Morgan Memorial United Methodist Church, Rose Hill, VA Anyone who met Claude was a friend, he never met a stranger, he leaves behind so many beloveds who he enjoyed farming with. He loved his family, fishing and farming. After returning to Lee County to make his home, he was a retired Business Owner and Farmer and served with the Thomas Walker Volunteer Fire Dept for 30 Years.

He moved to Ohio after marrying raised Joey and Johnny (wife Rosetta), Grandchildren, Joey, Jr., Jamie, Jared, Sarah, Matthew, Rebekah and Rachael, great-grandchildren, Hannah, Tayleigh, Kaylynn and Kalyssa, special friends, George and Betty Bowen, Ray Standifer, Bud Vincent and Linda Bowlin, special thanks to his caregiver, Charlotte Widener . Thanks to Advanced Home Car, Friendship Home Medical, Morgan Memorial UMC and Thomas Walker Fire and Rescue. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8PM at Robinette Funeral Home, Rose Hill, VA Funeral services will follow from the funeral home chapel with Rev.

Tim Robinson officiating. Grave side services will be conducted at 11AM Thursday in the Leftwich-Edds Cemetery, Rose Hill, VA Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM Thursday to proceed to the cemetery.
