Claudia E. Cowalsh, age 80 of Port Vue, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Riverside Nursing Center in McKeesport. Born August 20, 1937 in Duquesne, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sara (Kukic) Begovich. A former cook at Pauley’s Lookout and cashier at G.C. Muphy’s and Co., Claudia was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Cowalsh, and a daughter Denise Swiger, who passed away July 4, 2015.

She is survived by her children John Swiger of Port Vue, Paulette (Robert) Morgan of Palm Harbor, FL, and Paul Swiger of Penn Hills; her grandchildren Deanna Swiger and Brendan, Callie, and Eric Chismar; her siblings Sarah Begovich Kosetelac of White Oak and Carl Begovich of Tampa, FL; her lifelong friend Doris Paul; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles, on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Blessing will be held in the funeral home on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11 AM with Deacon Dale DiSanto officiating.

Procession and burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Duquesne.
