Clay D. “Dean” Strohm, 85 of Alverton, died Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 4, 1934 in Alverton the son of the late Clay G. and Frances K. Miller Strohm. Dean was a member of the Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton.

He was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School Class of 1951. Dean was the Owner/ Operator of a long haul truck in which he drove for various companies until his retirement in 2014. In his spare time, Dean enjoyed reading, watching Westerns and tinkering around on the family farm.

Dean was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother to his family, and a friend to all he knew. Dean is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Carolyn Kolar Strohm, who he married Sept. 26, 1955.

Jan Strohm of Alverton Kris Leonard and husband Eric of Alverton His Ten Grandchildren and Fifteen Great Grandchildren His Two Sisters: Jane Summy of Scottdale Christine Bowser and husband Larry of Alverton His Brother-In-Law: Art Kolar of Ruffsdale And a number of Nieces and Nephews In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by: His Infant Grandson, Jared Mark Strohm Brother-In-Law: Ed Summy Dean’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale Sunday from 4PM – 8PM. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 in the Funeral Home at 11AM with his minister, Pastor Lee Kline, Officiating, of Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton.
