Cleo Louise Phipps, age 81 of Grand Haven, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. Cleo was born October 18, 1937 in Adrian, MI to Leonard and Louise (Rinehart) Enders. She married John Phipps on October 28, 1957, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2004, after 46 years of marriage.

Cleo recently reconnected with her faith by attending First Reformed Church, where she also volunteered serving Wednesday Night Suppers. She had been employed at Grand Haven Gasket for more than 20 years prior to her retirement, and proudly served with the American Legion Auxiliary, Charles A. Conklin Post 28 for many years, and up to as recently as this November. She enjoyed being around people, and spent her time volunteering at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and participating in the Central Park Players of Grand Haven.

Cleo and John were members of Coast Guard City Sam’s Camping Group and they enjoyed traveling in the family motorhome in their younger years with the kids. Cleo is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Phipps; sons, Tim and David Phipps; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Melvin Willett; sisters-in-law, Louise Phipps, Ellen Phipps, and Lenora Phipps; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Joyce Cosier. She was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Enders; and two sisters, Lois Sisson and Marian Willett.

The Funeral Service for Cleo will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at First Reformed Church in Grand Haven with Pastor John Kenny officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
