Clover D. Allen December 26, 1929 – March 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card ALLEN, Clover D. – Of Grand Blanc, age 89, died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at The Landings of Genesee Valley. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating. Those desiring may make contributions to the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Clover was born in Scott City, Kansas on December 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Cecil and Norma Stopher. On August 10, 1947 she married John D. Allen.

She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church for over 20 years. Clover had a love of dogs. She was a Dog Show Judge with the American Kennel Club for over 50 years, as well as a professional dog handler and breeder.

She was a lifelong learner and was an avid reader. Clover was a member of the Zonta Club and member of the Flint Writer’s Guild. She had numerous talents and above all she loved her family.

Surviving are 4 children, Chrisanne and husband Dean Argue, Gale and husband Ralph Marcotte, Kenneth and wife Linda Allen, Kelly and husband Charles Zimmer; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Evelyn Stopher. many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, November 2, 2013; her parents and brother, Richard Stopher.
