Obituary for Cloyed T. Straub Hampton – Cloyed T. Straub, 94, of Hampton, formerly of Portsmouth, died peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Partridge House in Hampton. He was born in Thorofare, NJ January 12, 1924 the son of the late Theodore C. and Anna (Fols) Straub. Cloyed proudly served 29 years in the Navy and later as an Industrial Electronic Mechanic for 40 years at the Portsmouth Naval shipyard.

After his retirement he received his Captains license and ran a small cruise ship part time in Florida for a few years. Mr. Straub was an avid golfer who enjoyed wintering in Florida and amateur radio. He was a member of St. John’s Lodge No.

1 in Portsmouth, a lifelong member of the Fleet Reserve and RC Aces, a radio controlled airplane club. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Grear and her husband Dave, of Sweetwater, TN; granddaughter Kimberly Long and her husband Mark, of Tomball TX; great granddaughters, Elizabeth Long and Ashley Raymond of Tomball. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years Madelyn Shaw, in 2011 and his granddaughter Wendy Price.
