Obituary for Cora T. Velarde Cora Theresa Velarde July 10, 1930-November 18, 2018 Cora Theresa (Gonzales) Velarde was born July 10th, 1930 in Redlands, California. A California Native and resident of Rialto for 58 years, she passed away peacefully on Sunday November 18, 2018 in Colton with her family by her side. Cora retired after working for Norton Air Force Base 35 years as a Civil Service Accounting and Finance Supervisor.
She also worked many years at Sears in the Credit Department and Southern California Edison Company. She was a 1949 graduate of San Bernardino High School and a member of the Latin American Social Club for many years. She was also a member of St. Thomas More Church (Blessed John XXIII) in Rialto for over 50 years.
Her favorite past time was watching golf and knew about all the players on the golf circuit. She was a kind and loving person and knew no strangers. She was accepting and welcomed everyone into her family.
Her husband and love of her life Robert Velarde, sisters Carmen Aguila, Dora Velarde and Brothers Leonard Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzales, Raymond Gonzales, Gilbert Gonzales, and George Gonzales, precede Cora in death. A devoted, supportive, caring, and loving mother, grandmother, Godmother, sister, and aunt, she is survived by two sons Larry (Maryanne) of Smyrna, TN, and Gary (Luz) of Costa Mesa, Ca. Four Daughters, TerriLynn Anderson-Cardinal (Jimi) of San Bernardino, Ca.
, Mary Velarde (Tony) of Rialto, Ca. , Sheri Webb (Lucky) of Silver Lake, CA. , and Jeri Velarde-Osborne (Terry) of Frederick, MD.
17 Grandchildren Brian Velarde, (Dawn) Jennifer Gravitt, Stephanie Mickey, Jill Velarde, Kristina Velarde, John Anderson (Crystal), Travis Cardinal, Mayra Favela(Israel), Andria Terrones (Joey), Arron Clark, Jessica Jacobs (Tristan), Jason Webb (Candice), Ashley Webb (Melissa), Patrick Webb (Emily), Christopher Osborne (Dannette), Nicolas Osborne (LaToya), and Casey Salazar (Jose), 31 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. Her sisters Emma Lopez of San Bernardino, and Mary Jeanette Gonzales of Colton as well as several nephews, nieces, Godchildren and friends also survive her. Her memory will be cherished by all of us who loved her.
