After an extended illness, Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Smith passed into the next realm on February 11, 2019. Cindy was born on May 12, 1948 in South Bend, IN to William and Cora Belle Smith (both deceased). She lived most of her life on the west side of South Bend, moving briefly to Arizona.

She resided in Elkhart for the last 19 years. Cindy is survived by four siblings: William (Carol) of AZ, Gloria (Jerold) of OH, Nancy (Tim) of Mishawaka, Kenneth (Carol) of Elkhart, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Susan and Jeffery.

While in Elkhart, she reconnected with old family friends who helped her through her last few years. Thank you to the Myers girls: LG, Kay, and Shelley. Cindy is remembered for her collection of rocks, her long walks along the Kankakee and Grapevine, and her peanut butter fudge.

As she will be cremated, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Oaklawn Psychiatric Center, Attn: Oaklawn Foundation, PO Box 809, Goshen, IN 46527-0809. Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of her final arrangements.
