Daisie Mae Hartman, the daughter of Emma Leona (Hastings) and Lester Carold Aubushon, was born February 28, 1932 in Webster County, Nebraska. She departed this life on Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Guide Rock, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 14 days. A lifelong resident of the area, Daisie received her formal education attending rural Webster county schools and the Red Cloud High School.

She met the love of her life, Keith Hartman, in 1949 and they were united in marriage on June 18, 1950 at Nelson, Nebraska. This union was blessed with four children, Dale, Phillip, Charlene and Arlene. They farmed north of Guide Rock until 1957, when they moved into town to make their home.

Daisie was always actively involved in her community and with her church. For many years she worked for the Guide Rock schools in their lunch program. Daisie’s personality was pervaded by her loving spirit and a driving desire to serve others.

She was a faithful member of the Guide Rock Baptist Church, the Gideon Auxiliary and Sunday School teacher. Many years ago she initiated “Ladies Night Out” which was an opportunity to help young mothers in the community with their children and families. The ladies would care for the children in the church basement, affording the mothers a chance to catch up on their tasks and give them a bit of time.

In 1968, Daisie started visiting the area nursing home residents sharing her music, both in song and with her accordion, and encouragement. She continued this schedule until recent health issues made the commitment too difficult to continue. She lived her life following Christ’s example of excepting everyone without judgement.

In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking. Daisie possessed a number of musical talents, singing, playing the piano, accordion and guitar. Her greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for her family and she has provided them with a lifetime of loving and spirited memories too numerous to list.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her son, Phillip and a brother, Carold Aubushon. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 68 years, Keith Hartman of Guide Rock, Nebraska; son, Dale Hartman; daughters, Charlene Troudt and husband, Phillip, and Arlene Wiley and husband Terry all of Guide Rock; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; adopted daughter, Teena Fuller Smith and husband, Bobby of Johns Town, Colorado; a brother, Milton Aubushon and wife June of Phillipsburg, Kansas; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., June 15, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Guide Rock with the Rev.

David Sherwood officiating. Interment will be at the Guide Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the family present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Gideon’s International.
