Ralph Eugene Dickinson, the son of Dorothy (Frazer) and Rolland E. Dickinson, was born December 6, 1945 at Sterling, Colorado. He departed this life on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 26 days. Ralph received his formal education attending the Ainsworth schools.

He was awarded his professional certificates attending the Law Enforcement Training Center and the Criminal Investigation Unit in 1976. He dedicated his life’s work to law enforcement and then as a heavy equipment operator working on road construction around the state. A veteran of the United States Army, Ralph served his country in Vietnam from February 16, 1966 until his discharge from service on February 16, 1968.

He was united in marriage with Victoria S. Mans on December 31, 1968 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Riverton, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two sons, Ryan and James. In his leisure time Ralph enjoyed pursuing a number of activities and interests including hunting, fishing, cooking and woodworking.

His greatest love in life was for his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Leona Rae Ahlers and Joyce Dickinson, and a brother, Timothy Dickinson. Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife, Vicki Dickinson of Elwood, Nebraska; sons, Ryan Dickinson and wife Mary of Ogallala, Nebraska and James Dickinson and wife Lisa of Firth, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his sisters, Judy Scheinost and Gail Stokes; brother, John Dickinson and wife Brenda; half-sister, Lisa Kelly and husband Peter; half-brother, Matthew Wozniak and wife Carlene; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., July 7, 2018 at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Paul Frank officiating.

Inurment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Red Cloud.
