Patsy Ellen Stokes, the daughter of Nova Ellen (Worrell) and Benjamin Aaron Tatro, was born June 5, 1937 at Rochester, Washington. She departed this life on Saturday, July 7,2018 at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 2 days. Patsy graduated from high school in Centralia, Washington and then completed her formal education receiving her Associate’s Degree from junior college.

She was united in marriage with Thomas C. Sutton in 1952, and they raised their family and made their home at Auburn, Washington. Patsy was employed at the Army Hospital in Ft. Lewis, Washington, and then later dedicated her time working with handicap children.

After her husband’s death she moved to Nebraska to live. She was united in marriage with Vernon “Brick” Stokes on May 28, 1982. They made their home in Red Cloud where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Patsy possessed a lifelong love for small animals and for many years operated a kennel raising Persian cats. Preceding Patsy in death were her parents; her husbands, Thomas Sutton and Vernon Stokes; sisters, Nadine Crumrine, Lola Nelson and Lila Cyr, and a brother, Albert Tatro. Left to treasure her memory are her children: Terri and Gale Reynolds of Washington; Mycael and Robin Rose of Northbranch, Kansas; Peggy Sutton of Oregon, Penelope Lancaster of Washington; Kimberly Chamberlain of Casper, Wyoming, and Thomas D. Sutton of Red Cloud, Nebraska.

Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Clark; brother, Herbert Tatro; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services are pending.
