Obituary for Dale Arthur Allsop Dale Allsop Jun 11, 1932 ~ Aug 24, 2018 Dale Allsop passed away August 24th 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born to Revearl and Grace Allsop in Salt Lake City on June 11, 1932. Dale attended East High School, and subsequently attended the University of Utah.

During this same time Dale joined the US Air Force ROTC program where he received pilot training at Spence Air Base in Moultrie, Georgia. He trained and flew a number of aircraft including the T-5, T-33 and the Boeing B-47 Stratojet, While he was training to be an air force pilot, Dale met and married the love of his life Donna Brannock Allsop. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS temple.

Dale attended the University of Southern California School of Architecture, and built a successful architecture practice in Salt Lake City. Dale was principal in designing many K-12 schools for both Nebo and South Summit school districts. One of Dale’s favorite schools was South Summit High School in Kamas, UT for the South Summit School District.

During the same time Dale was building his architecture practice, he spent many weekends flying cargo missions for the Air Force Reserves. He was assigned to and flew C-124s with the 945th Military Air Lift Group stationed out of Hill Air Force Base. Previously, he was assigned to the 28th Military Airlift Squadron also stationed at Hill Air Force Base flying C-124s and C-119s.

He retired from the Air Force Reserves with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dale developed an early love of the outdoors and learned to fly fish from family friends. One of his favorite places to fish was Yellowstone National Park.

Dale also loved to go boating. His boat, the Donna B, was a fixture on Lake Powell during the late 1970s, and early 80s. Dale also loved to go hunting, and had many successful trips with his sons and friends.

He loved spending time in the beautiful mountains of Utah. Dale loved spending time with his wife, 3 sons and one daughter. He was an active member of the LDS church and served several tour missions at the LDS conference center after it first opened.

He is survived by his sons Brent and Greg, and daughter Courtney, and numerous grandkids and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the LDS Chapel located at 4100 Camille Street, Holladay, Utah with a gathering prior to services from 9:00 to 10:45 am. Interment in the Elysian Burial Gardens.
